Mozilla Firefox Launch Event In Pakistan

As the new update of Firefox were celebrated around the globe, so on the 10^th may, 2014 Beaconhouse National University hosted Mozilla Pakistan Community first ever immense event. The event was about the Mozilla Firefox mission ( open source ) and many other presentations about Mozilla were been discussed and told. The event started at 11 am and the host Talal Burny provided a sensational start to the event.

The first presentation was delivered by Asad Sajjad which was about “how to get involved in Mozilla.” He told us that how we can contribute to Mozilla and how we can help Mozilla in making THE WEB WE WANT. He also enlightened us about the Mozilla Firefox Student ambassador program.

  

Then Shahmir khan took the charge and shared his views about the Mozilla mission (open source) and

told us about the new Mozilla technologies.

 

Then it was Fawad Hassan’s time to come and share his views as he’s been involved in Mozilla since a very long time and he specially traveled here from Islamabad to present. The presentation was totally based on Firefox OS. He gave a very detailed explanation showing the code work and all other stuff which was related to the OS.   

Giveaways were been given time to time to keep the audience’s interest in the event.

Now it was Mehmood Ali and Hassan Ahmed’s (Mozilla reps) turn to present. They explained the reason for which this event was basically organized “ The New Firefox”.

  

Now it was the question/answer session in which the launch team answered the questions of the audience in a very moral way.

When the question/answer session was completed, tweet and best selfie contest was announced which was to be done during the lunch break.

Multiple number of booths were established which demonstrated all the presentations.

 

Social media team which kept the The New Firefox launch event alive on the social set-ups ( twitter, google +, facebook etc )

When lunch break was done, the winners of the tweet and selfie contest were declared respectively. After this, the even was successfully terminated with a delicious Firefox cake.

 

Only a few months have passed and i have learned and experienced a lot of things about Mozilla and their respective mission. It’s a great task to perform and in future will surely work for the betterment of Firefox and will make THE WEB WE WANT.
